BEACH BOX BRIGHTON
Beach Box Brighton was a long term pop-up spa that I co-founded sited on Brighton beach from 2018-2021, delivering a range authentic European sauna bathing experiences. (Now relocated just along the beach)
Comprising 3 saunas themed around different sauna cultures - the Finnish 'löyly sauna', Estonian 'leil saun' and Russian 'big banya'
Outdoor showers, cold pool, or a plunge in the sea provide the cold contrast.

Working with a tight budget and to promote sustainability - up-cycled materials were utilised wherever possible.
2 trailer saunas are converted vintage horse trailers and outside furniture is crafted from pallets, fence panels or picked up in second hand stores.
We started with a quality sauna set-up and grew our offering alongside the business.
The big banya (Russian Style) is full of reclaimed materials - windows from a lifeboat, reclaimed insulation and fully clad with packing crates - even the stove was donated from a cultural olympiad pop-up spa project The Barking Bathhouse.
Designed as a multi functional sauna space -particularly for groups rituals - we have a wide bench for whisking (Baltic style), raised floor so guests can easily sit in the heat (Finnish style), multiple levels for choice of heating and plenty of space for aufguss masters to work (central European style)
